Trying to Reach My Goals with the Polar Balance

I have been working to lose the weight I gained during my downtime from my injury for way too long.  I decided to get a little more help and invest in the Polar Balance scale.  I have the M4oo (you can read my review of that if you would like) that I use for running and after… [Continue Reading]

Peanut Butter Balls – Recipe

I think many of us have a sweet tooth from time to time.  Thankfully I do not get one often but when I do, I still try to keep it a bit healthy if possible.  I started making Peanut Butter Balls to keep in the freezer, they have become a favorite cheat snack for me!… [Continue Reading]

I am sure by now you know I love running - well - today is Global Running Day!!  In my last couple posts I shared that my youngest son has started running with me.  I am beyond thrilled about this of course.   It is hard to believe that just a couple years ago my youngest son really did not want to get outside to play which was not good.  We started with taking walks then moved to hiking and now he wants to be a runner - hopefully a trail runner! Today we will be heading out to run to … [Continue Reading...]

Trying to Reach My Goals with the Polar Balance

I have been working to lose the weight I gained during my downtime from my injury for way too long.  I decided to get a little more help and invest in the Polar Balance scale.  I have the M4oo (you can read my review of that if you would like) that I use for running and after researching thought this would be another good investment. I was excited when I picked my scale up last Friday and brought it home.  It was extremely easy to set up which is good because as always I ignored the … [Continue Reading...]

This past weekend I headed out for my virtual run that Flex It Pink was hosting.  I had planned to run a 10k and ended up having to cut it short to a 5k.  It started off as a better than normal run, my youngest son has decided he wants to run with me which is awesome.  His doctor cleared him at a physical so this was his first run.  He ran just over a mile and then hoped in our Razor to head home with dad and my dog and I continued on. We got up the road a ways and there were a couple cars so … [Continue Reading...]

When Schedules Change and You Have to Adjust

Many of you know I homeschool my youngest son.  Well, now that Spring is here our schedules are getting a bit crazy.  I do not mind because we get to join up with friends and go hiking and exploring which we both love.  Problem is trying to get workouts in and packing healthy food for our outings.  I get so used to being able to eat whatever I want whenever I want that I forget what it is like to have to pack up and go.  I do not mind making the adjustment of course because we get to go learn … [Continue Reading...]

Loving the Weather Change!

We are finally getting some great weather where I live.  I love winter and the snow but have to admit I am definitely ready for Spring and warmth.  Both of my running partners are enjoying it as well - they too have gotten a bit out of shape. I hate to admit it but I have slacked off on strength training now that I am able to get outside to run.  I am a cardio addict and for me anything that is not cardio is usually considered a punishment (I know it isn't but I have to force myself to do … [Continue Reading...]

Avocado, Tomato and Cheese Omelet – Recipe

I have been sent more than one e-mail asking me about my eating habits, the most recent one pointed out a post I had done on bacon wrapped pigs in a blanket.  They asked how I can eat foods like that and yet try to be fit.  I thought I would start trying to share more of the foods that I eat to help balance things out a bit.  I do not eat bacon, I am one of the few people in the world that does not like it.  That of course means that when I did the post on the bacon wrapped pigs in a blanket  - … [Continue Reading...]
